Thank You!

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel, from the first day until now.” Philippians 1:3-4

Paul is in prison when he pens these words and he writes them to a group of people who had won his heart. The Philippians church was not a perfect church, no church is, but Paul loved his ministry partners and was compelled to express gratitude for their service to the Lord and kindness extended to him.

I drove home Easter Sunday afternoon thanking God for you and woke up Monday morning still singing your praises to God. Hundreds of you said “yes” to serving when you were needed most. You sacrificed much and you served well. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

On behalf of the 4683 adults and children who entered our doors Good Friday through the last Easter service, thank you for helping hosting God’s Super Bowl. From the parking lot to the chair, God was honored and lives were touched by the love and grace of our Resurrected Jesus. Thank you.

I hope each of you had a good experience and will consider serving on a regular basis on one of our teams. Besides being used by God to make a difference, you will grow in your relationship with Jesus.
Thank you also for inviting your family and friends. I met scores of first time attenders who were in awe of your warm, fun loving, sincere hospitality. Many said they were touched by the presence of God, your authenticity and couldn’t wait to come back again. Thank you.

Please join me, when you can, in thanking our outstanding staff, full and part time. I get to work alongside of some incredibly gifted and talented people. Even more so, they love God and his people. They work countless hours behind the scenes, day and night for our mission and purpose. They don’t do what they do to get rich or to receive public adulation, but because they are sold-out to the mission of Jesus. I am honored to be their friend and ministry partner. Thank you team!

I am sad to announce the end of a 16-year season of Leslie Lummus serving on our staff ministry team. Leslie and husband, Jeff, will be moving to Houston in early June as a part of the XTO/Exxon consolidation plan. The good news is, their exile to Houston will be a brief two years before Jeff retires and they will be returning to Burleson and Pathway.

I could write a book on all of the ways God has used Leslie in the blessing of people through Pathway Church. From serving as a youth sponsor to serving on our Executive Leadership Team, she has helped shape our culture, values and mission. Her fingerprints are all over this place we love and cherish. Leslie is not one for the limelight and they plan on returning in two years, so we are not having a huge church-wide good bye and send off, but please seize every opportunity to thank Leslie for her huge contribution to the mission of Pathway.

I am praying for you. Please pray for me.
