Is Pathway Christian Academy Is Pathway Christian Academy a Mother’s Day Out Program?
Although Pathway Christian Academy does offer classes for children age 2 through Kindergarten, we do not offer a Mother’s Day Out Program with drop-in classes. We base our school calendar on the BISD school schedule.
At what age do you accept children into your program?
Pathway Christian Academy offer classes beginning at age 2 as of September 1st.
What are the hours of your school?
Classes are from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm.
Do you have before or after school care?
We offer before and after school care for children enrolled at Pathway Christian Academy beginning at 7:00am each day and lasting until 6:00pm. Fees for our extended day program are paid monthly along with tuition, and vary dependent upon type of enrollment. See the Handbook for more information.
What curriculum do you teach?
We use the A Beka curriculum, Handwriting Without Tears, Teaching Station, Saxon, and Bible Verses. We use different curriculum, along with learning centers, to encompass a wide variety of information.
Do the children at Pathway Christian Academy go to chapel?
Each week we offer “God’s Minutes” in our KidQuest Theater. This is offered Wednesday Mornings at 9:15. Praise and Worship are the key components.
How much does it cost to attend Pathway Christian Academy?
That depends on which program your child is in.
If my child misses a day, will my tuition payment be reduced?
Since Pathway Christian Academy operates as a school and not a Mother’s Day Out or child care center, the monthly rates remain the same, regardless of absences.
If there is bad weather, how will we know whether or not to come to school?
When there is a bad weather day, we will follow BISD’s lead. In the event that BISD closes for the day, we will also be closed. If BISD opens late, we will still remain closed.
How much does the after school program cost if my child is a student at Pathway Christian Academy?
Cost varies based on enrollment. Please contact admissions.
Can my Fifth Grader come to Pathway Christian Academy for After School care also?
The after school program is for students enrolled in PCA.
Do you offer a lunch program?
At this time, all of our students provide their own lunch each day.
Can I send a lunch that requires warming?
We do not have the facilities to heat up any lunches, so please provide a lunch that does not require any preparation.
What will my child do at Pathway Christian Academy?
Children at Pathway Christian Academy have a busy and enjoyable day! Each teacher has a class schedule that includes Bible, Language Arts, Math, and creative centers. All children have daily recess outside on the playground, weather permitting. In the event that the weather does not allow for us to be outdoors, we use the ARC for indoor large group activities. All students go to STEAM class daily for exercise and enrichment activities.
How do I pay my tuition? Will I be billed?
All families enrolled at Pathway Christian Academy will use the FACTS financial payment program to pay their tuition. This system will allow for new options such as automatic debit and credit card payments.
Does Pathway Christian Academy get involved with the community?
At Pathway Christian Academy, we feel it is important to teach our children the value of community involvement. PCA does a canned food drive in November and donations go to Harvest House. For Valentine’s Day, we have a Share the Love Week. The students bring in animal toys that we donate to the City of Burleson Animal shelter to share the love with our furry friends.
What type of training do your teachers have?
All of our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified and receives 24 hours of continuing education in early childhood topics each year. All of our Kindergarten teachers hold current teaching certifications.
Are background checks done on the teachers?
All staff at Pathway Christian Academy receive a background check when they are hired along with finger printing by the state.
Is a snack offered to my child each day?
All classes have a snack time about mid-morning.
Will my child receive a nap during the school day?
All preschool students receive a nap during the school day. The nap time varies according to the age of the child. In the two year old room, nap time is approximately 2 hours. Our three year olds receive a 1 hour 15 minute nap, while Pre-K students nap for 1 hour. Although students do not need to sleep during nap time, they must remain quietly on their nap mats.
Is there a school uniform at Pathway Christian Academy?
All students at Pathway Christian Academy have a dress code, which is explained in detail in the Student Handbook. Preschool children wear a Pathway Christian Academy t-shirt, which may be purchased in the school office for $10. Elementary students wear navy or khaki pants, skirts, shorts, skorts, or jumpers and can choose from any color of polo type shirt.
Will my three year old go on a field trip?
Children begin to take field trips once they are in a Pre-Kindergarten class. Two and three year old children do not leave the school campus.
Will my child need to take an entrance exam to be admitted to your school?
Pathway Christian Academy does not require entrance exams for students enrolling for a new school year, however we may require a placement test in reading and math for students in Kindergarten. Testing is not meant to keep students out of a class, but simply used as a means of best serving your child.
Does my child eat lunch at the same time each day?
Each class eats lunch at a different time, but classes do not rotate lunch times. Therefore, the lunch time your child begins the year with will remain the same throughout the school year.
Is there a registration fee to enroll my child at Pathway Christian Academy?
All new students are charged a $150 registration fee. This fee must be turned in with all enrollment forms for your child to have a seat in class and is non-refundable.
Are there any other fees associated with enrolling at Pathway Christian Academy?
There is a book fee for each class. The book fee pays for all books/materials that your child will use throughout the year.
