W.I.N.G.S.

PCA believes that our staff has the responsibility of role modeling Christian authority to our students and our community. These principles form the cornerstone of our philosophy. We expect our staff and our students to use their WINGS.

With these principles, or WINGS, our students will mount up with wings like eagles.

Wisdom

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. – Proverbs 4:7

Integrity

As for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me and be merciful to me. – Psalm 26:11

Nobility

The ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.- Luke 8:15

Grow

Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. –  2 Peter 3:18

Spirituality

For it is not you that speak, but the spiritof your Father which speaks in you. – Matthew 10:20

Curriculum

PCA provides a stimulating early education experience in which Christian values and biblical principles are taught. Our experienced staff will provide a nurturing setting that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, physical, moral and spiritual development.

Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum

Our preschool curriculum is focused around childcentered, developmentally appropriate activities that are geared towards creating meaningful experiences for each individual. We use the ABeka curriculum as a foundation for basic academics, along with handwriting without tears, and touch math. We also offer a class in music and creative movement.

Kindergarten Curriculum

Our Kindergarten Program (5 years old as of September 1 of the current school year) offers students hands-on learning experiences in a joyful, Christian classroom setting. We have a small class size to ensure that students receive individualized instruction. Saxon is the foundation curriculum, along with literature stations, guided reading and math in small groups, and other researched-based programs to supplement the learning process. Students also benefit by learning to share life experiences in pictures and words through monthly journaling activities.

God's Minutes

In addition to classroom bible time, everyone participates in God’s Minutes on Wednesday mornings. This is a non-denominational chapel time in the Kid’s Quest Theater.

Progress Reports

Preschool students will receive progress reports in December and again in May. Student’s progress will be assessed in social and cognitive development.

Report Cards

Report cards are issued every six weeks for kindergarten students. Grading reflects a child’s achievement primarily with respect to his/her developmental/aptitude level. Children are evaluated on their individual growth and development.

Our Director

Kia Hook
Director of Pathway Christian Academy

Kia received her teaching degree from Texas Tech University in 1995. Her family came to Pathway after they moved to Burleson in 2002. She loves working with children and watching them grow not only in early childhood education but in learning God’s word. She believes this is the most critical time in a child’s education and wants them to be successful for the future. Kia’s favorite part of her job is greeting the children every morning and hugging them before class begins. She says it is the best way to start the day!
